Future ExPat

Hello everyone. New to the forums, and just recently started to consider an early retirement somewhere overseas.

I am currently 50 years old, reside in Texas. I am widowed, have one adult son, and blessed to still have both parents alive and healthy (although half way across the country from me)

I recently took a good hard look at my life, income, and future goals, and decided that I really don't desire to work myself to death. I also know I do not have the funds saved to be able to retire and enjoy my golden years here in the U.S. that being said, I do have some retirement savings and a fairly substantial amount of equity in my current home.

I've just recently begun my search for information on relocating abroad and I am currently focusing on Ecuador and Panama. I'm sure you'll see me asking a lot of questions around here.
