The Tough Questions

I have recently begun my search for any and all information about retiring early and relocating overseas. Ecuador and Panama are currently my two top choices.

I've done a lot of reading and watching online videos. I can't seem to find anyone asking the "difficult" questions that are important to me, so here goes...

I am currently single (50 year old widower - wife passed years ago at a young age in a car accident). I am going to moving alone, as a single still semi young retired individual. Here are a few questions I have that I have not seen asked or answered... Forgive me if they seem inappropriate...

First, I would be selling my home in Texas and living off my equity and savings until I get my Social Security . that being the case, I still wish to provide SOMETHING to my son when I pass away. If I were to purchase a property in Ecuador, what happens when I (as a single man) pass away? As far as I am concerned they can toss my dead body in the trash, or set me out to sea, but... if my son wished, would my remains be shipped back to the US? What about my possessions? Can my son still inherit any property I may purchase in Ecuador? On a similar note, since I only currently carry life insurance through my employer, once I retire can I obtain life insurance (with my son as a beneficiary) when I relocate overseas?

Now, to less dreadful questions....

Being single, but not quite OLD yet, I do still enjoy the company of a lady every now and then. I'm not quite interested in the "dating" scene, but how to the local or other ExPats feel about American ExPats spending time with the local ladies? Basically, am I destined to be a lonely old man, or will I be welcomed as a single but looking individual?

I have watched countless videos and read article after article about wonderful things to do that involve outdoor activities. What about indoor activities for the evenings and nights? Currently I do enjoy visiting a country bar, doing some dancing, have a few drinks, and just mingling. Would a 50 year old like myself be out of place, assuming there are places the locals go such as bars, dance halls, discos, or whatever they be called...

I'm sure I'll be back with many more seemingly strange questions, but until then, thank you in advance for any answers you may be able to provide!
