To ship or not to ship

We are planning to move to Vilcabamba/Malacatos, from Florida. We are wondering if it's better to ship a household (furniture, personal belongings, some tools, possibly a vehicle?) or start over and buy everything in Ecuador. Also wondering about shipping a vehicle, if it's worth it or even possible. Also we have multiple pets, mostly small enough to travel in cabin, but we have one large dog and since we're moving in June it's going to be very hot in Florida and we're not sure if we can bring her if she has to travel in "cargo". We can't afford a professional pet transport (we were quoted $3500-$6,000). Thanks for any advice and wisdom. Joy
