Life in the Sinai

Hello All,

I am currently considering a position which will require me to be in the North and South Sinai for approximately two years. One of my biggest concerns, and please forgive my ignorance in this matter, is what exactly is the danger level to an American wishing to get around in the immediate areas, primarily, Sharm El Sheik and also El Gorah? Is the bus transportation safe?

Another question would be regards airports - would you recommend Cairo or Tel Aviv?

Any other comments, suggestions or advice you could forward would be greatly appreciated.
