Moving to Cairo with a toddler

I am looking for practical advice from moms in Cairo. I have a 2-yr old son and we're headed to Cairo in August. Please advise as to anything we need to make sure to bring, what to expect, etc. Are clothing expectations the same for children as they are for adults (no shorts)? We'll be living in Maadi. Any and all info is appreciated!
