Cost of living question

Hi,

I'm planning on moving to Egypt for a 4 month internship in August.
The company has agreed to help me find accommodation, and have claimed that they have found a flat sharing arrangement where I will be paying maximum 500 Egyptian pounds a month.

This seems to me to be ridiculously cheap. Could anyone give me a rough idea of the standard of accommodation for that price? Would it be worth me spending a little extra or is housing really just that cheap?

p.s. The company itself is paying me peanuts - If anyone has any advice on supplementing this income with freelance work such as copywriting please let me know. I graduate from Cambridge with an upper 2:1 in History this year.
