Egyptians Coming Back to Egypt

I have left Egypt when I turned 17 years old. I am a citizen of the USA. I am now in my early 50 and never felt more home sick. My kids are now grown up, and I guess in a couple of years I should have more freedom of movement. I would like to buy an apartment in Egypt where I can visit Egypt on a regular basis and eventually in a couple or years later move over there. Does any one have similar experience and managed to move over there after so many years abroad? Is there a good place to move to? What would be a good income to live on in a city such as Cairo, Alexandria, Sharm or other cities that you know of? Any thoughts would be highly appreciated. Best!
