british Male, Egyptian female...please HELP

Hi my close friend (male) around 3 years ago married an Egyptian women. And now things have turned out horribly. He is not allowed to see his daughter and I'm wondering is there anything he can do? He lives and is from UK and daughter and mother are from Cairo Egypt. Also is his marriage legal in the UK? How could he divorce?? Thanks in advance. Cay
