electronic ban on Egypt Air

Does anyone have experience with the ban on electronics larger than 16 cm on flights to the US by Egypt Air? Do they offer any other check in opportunity than just putting your tablet/laptop into a suitcase and checking it in? I know Qatar and Emirates are offering packaging services right before boarding into boxes and receipts for the devices. Anything available at Cairo Airport like that? Just seems so counter intuitive to throw your expensive devices into a check-in suitcase...
