Moving to live with a Fijian partner - need advice

Bula, I have been to Fiji many times after falling in love with the place on my first trip. I even met a lovely Fijian and we have been in a relationship since both of us having visited each other a few times.

Here's where I need advice. My partner would like to come and live and work in the UK with me but at the moment we don't meet some of the visa requirements like sharing a household and bills etc. I wondered how easy it would be for me to move to Fiji temporarily so that we could achieve this? Is it easier for us to get an apartment and bank account together in Fiji? I'm thinking about 6 months to a year to be able to prove that we are in a "genuine" relationship.

I would love to stay in Fiji but the work opportunities for me just aren't there (I work in television) and he would have more work opportunities here.

If anyone can offer some advice or has been in the same situation I would love to hear from you. Thank you!
