Sending household/ furnishings for friend

Hi all, unusual circumstances mean that we wish to donate/send a 20ft container of house furnishings from Auckland NZ to a dear friend of ours residing in Fiji. She is retired, and holds Fijian residency. All items would be used/second hand, including things like bed, tables, crockery etc. we are not sur if this is possible, or how to do this without getting hot with all the taxes. Any ideas? Has anyone done this before?
