carte de sejour

wondering if anyone knew how difficult or easy it would be to find work once you're granted a carte de sejour. i'm an american citizen, just relocated to france with my french boyfriend. we have an appointment at the mairie's office tomorrow to pick up my carte de sejour(or some kind of "blue form").

once the carte de sejour is granted, does it become easier to find employment?

i've had various answers.......you have to leave the country in order to await a work visa.......just have to take your contract to the mairie's.....etc.....

would appreciate any info. thanks.
