Loire Region

Hi everyone,

Husband and I are looking to move to France and are considering the
Loire region. I have been surprised at the differences in areas quite
near the Loire river. They seem to range from beautiful (Loches) to
dreary (Berry region). Of course this is only internet and book
research.

Can anyone provide personal experience of any area in the Loire
Valley?
