health insurance with health condition

Hi,

We're looking to relocate to France. I am an artist and wish to work in France rather than the US. I've been reading the posts on the logistics of health insurance and am wondering if anyone can help with this question.

My husband has a health condition, which while not life threatening is chronic. In the posts there is mention of a physical as part of qualifying for the state health program. There was some other information indicating that everyone is accepted. So if we get the long term resident status he will be given health care? In the US such conditions can exclude you from health insurance. Thanks, Suzzie
