Buying a business in France and work rights?

Hi, glad to have found this network!
I am looking to work and live in France but need some advice re working status. Plan is to buy a restaurant (or similar) business...What is the situation for an Australian couple without EU passports? Can you apply for a working visa to run your own business in France? How do you go about doing this? Any advice or contacts would be appreciated. Regards
