Relocating to France from Canada

Hi everyone. I'm a Canadian citizen as well as a Finnish citizen. To the best of my knowledge, as Finland is a member of the EU and the Schengen Group of countries, me and my family are able to move to and work in France without the need of a visa. Does anyone have particular knowledge of the requirements for finnish citizens? I've tried calling the embassy in Ottawa but have not as yet received any calls back (shocking!!! lol).
I will be moving with my two children who will be 6 and 3 at the time of the move. Does anyone have any recommendations as the area that would be best? I am thinking of the Dordogne or Brittany but would like some input from others. Any suggestions? Is there one particular area that would be better for schools and/or jobs? We're just starting the moving process and are looking to move in the spring of 2011. Thanks for your help!
