Summer rental in Montpellier

I am an American, searching for a reasonable month-long summer rental in the city of Montpellier. I wish to get a really good feel for the city, its residents, and the expat community, with hopes of retiring there within the next three years.

Would anyone care to correspond, and perhaps guide me towards a decent rental for July, 2011? Or simply exchange conversations on your experiences? I speak fairly good French, having been raised in a French-Canadian family. I have visited France seven times, but have never been south. I'm a pianist, music teacher, public school choral director. Thanks in advance!
