Want to move to Paris

Hello,
I am a US Citizen (San Francisco native). Professionally I am in Human Resources, I am a college/university graduate(BS degree), and I am single/39. I want to live in France for one year plus. Which visa route does anyone suggest I pursue to allow me stay legally and to possibly integrate me to the French system. I am aware of the following:

· Student

· Long stay

· Work (Teach English, Au Pair, or company sponsorship)

I would like to target 2016/17 to transition over to France. Please kindly advise options, resources and let me know if anyone has specific questions.
