Not knowing french, it's a bit difficult for me to find places to ask for advice for my friend, so I'm posting this here. I know this probably isn't a good place to post this, so if anyone can recommend me a better forum, or resource that I can ask questions to, I'll happily take this there. It's just that, after multiple Google searches, this is the first place that I found that I could actually ask questions to.
To give background, I have an online friend who's 20 years old, and he currently lives in France (around Paris). He lives in a home with an abusive mother ("it's gotten so bad I once dropped to 48kg for 1.79m". Basically, his mother was too prideful to let him go to soup kitchen, even though he was starving. There's more abuse, but that's all I think I should say here). However, he doesn't think he has any other options than to continue living with her. He only has a small amount of money to his name, and it's looking like he and his mother are going to get kicked out of their apartment soon.
I've done a little bit of research, and it seems like he's screwed out of a lot of welfare programs. He hasn't had a job, he dropped out of college (Which further pushed him into his hopelessness), and since he's under 25, he doesn't qualify for RSA.
My question is, what are his options in his situation? How does someone build up from almost nothing in France? He's in a dark place right now, and I'm clueless as to what he can do to get out of this hole he's in.
If anyone can provide advice or even point me to better resources, I would greatly appreciate it.
