Health Insurance After Citizenship

Hi all,

If we do end up moving to France early next year, my understanding is that after a certain period of time, we can apply to be covered under the French health insurance program. That would involve paying 8% of our taxable income, based on an average of the last two year's tax returns. Correct so far?

If, after five years, we decide to apply for citizenship and are then granted citizenship, does that change anything in the way we get health insurance coverage? Do we still pay 8% of our taxable income?

Thanks,

Mark
