Covid test for travel to US

Further to what I posted on the Immigration Atty topic, my local Paris 24/7 DOES test on Sunday (I assumed they wouldn't, even though they are open Sunday). So, I got tested (and didn't pay b/c I have a carte vitale). On departure from Orly, I was asked for the doc -- but at NEWARK I wasn't. Grrrr. The 1-day requirement is per U.S. Returning to France, as of now, one must be tested within 4 days of dep., not 1. That's the per France.
