Living in Montpellier - Lifestyle and Language question

Greetings - I'm planning to move to France in early 2023, and have an exploratory trip in October scheduled as well. One of the cities I'm targeting is Montpellier.

I'm interested in hearing from folks who have settled in this region, and getting their ideas of specific neighborhoods/areas where I should focus on a house search. I'm going to rent for at least the first six months before entertaining the thoughts of buying a place. But any and all of your impressions of Montpellier.

As a (currently) non French speaker I am hopeful there are a number of English speaking expats plus essential services available the speak my native tongue. I do understand the need for becoming conversant in French; I'm going to spend time getting some language basics before my October trip.

About me: I'm age 62, coming over solo. I'm working with a relocation company to help take care of all the paperwork/visa issues.
