Move to Paris

We recently returned from a 1 month stay in Paris and we left there wishing we could stay longer. Several areas are unresolved for us.
1. We think that renting for the length of time we want to stay would be the better option, more economical and certainly less headache. Any ideas on this?
2. We also have questions about healthcare in France. How is the quality and its availability for non EU citizens. Are there private health insurances and how expansive are they? Are Medicare and supplemental insurances accepted in France?
3. Another issue relates to our prescription drugs and how to get them from the US if we decide to stay much longer than 6 months?
4. What about the visa status? Are we allowed to stay in France any longer than 3 months every 6 months or is there a visa available for individuals wishing to stay (and not work) for a longer period.
Thanks
