Supplying French Address for Residence Visa Application

Hello. Can anyone speak on the Visa process where it concerns having to supply a lease/address as a part of the Residence Visa process? It has been challenging to rent an apartment in France being outside of the country. Would a short term AirBnB be acceptable?
