Shipping Big Dog to France

We're moving to France permanently in a few months and are taking our 68 lb Lab mix. After getting quotes from specialty animal transpo companies and doing all the research we decided to fly with her on our plane in the hold. We decided this because one of those specialty places, that quoted something like $6,000 for the service, said they don't actually fly with the animal. They take them to the airport and make sure they get on the plane. For $6,000. They don't even gather the animal at the other end. Even if they did, why pay that insane price for something we can do.

Anyway, I hope this helps some of you. At some point we're going to have to put our faith in the airline and we're flying Air France because we've spoken with people who had positive experiences flying their large pets over through them.

Everyone has their own needs and you'll do what's best for you. Just sharing some information.
