looking for long term rental in Bergerac

We want to start with a big thank you.

Two years ago, when we began this retire to France journey, we met with several expats, mostly in Pyrenees Atlantiques and Gironde. Their insights and advice were invaluable.

Since returning to the US we have sold our house, begun the process of winnowing our belongings and planning our move as of Sept. 1, 2025.

We have settled on the Perigord region as to where we think we would be most comfortable.

So now we are reaching out again, for your thoughts and insight, particularly as it relates to finding a long-term rental while we explore the area.

We know that it can be a little tricky and have been advised to be sure to have confidence in the individual/company of the renting party and that we would be well served if we could find a personal referral.
We could add a pre-trip in May 2025 to be on site and hope to find a six to 12 month rental starting in September 2025.

Being in either Bergerac or Periguex and able to explore on foot would be our first choice, but we are certainly open to other options.
