I shipped a new BMW from Germany to Texas in 1999 for $1000 roll on/off. (not including import tax nor marine insurance). I picked up at port

Now my company got a qoute for a "roll on/off" shipment from US - Germany for $3500 !!! This includes pickup at home and delivery at german home and marine insurance.

WHY IS THIS SO HIGH???
