Moving to Karlsruhe, need advice about visas/permits! Help!

Hi,
I currently live in Vancouver with my boyfriend who is a German citizen. He is going back to Germany soon, and I plan to move there shortly after. I qualify for the youth mobility visa, but the problem is, I am not able to attend University, and putting my studies on hold for a year or more is not my first choice. I've considered getting a student visa, but I would need to work more than the 90 days allowed to support myself going to school, plus, my German is not really at a post-secondary level.

Please, anyone who has been in a similar situation, let me know what you did, or anyone who has further info on how an unskilled worker can acquire a residence/work permit that allows the opportunity for study?

I really need help!
