Tax benefit of Greece

Hello everyone. I am entertaining the possibility of living in Greece 6 month of the year (Feb to August) and 6 months here in the US (California). I'm trying to understand how/if the 7% flat tax for pensioner residence in Greece actually works and really is of benefit for us retirees. Can someone clear up for me if you still need to file taxes (Federal and State) in the US under this program or just in Greece? I will continue to have an income stream located here in the US to fund living abroad and if I have to still file taxes in both countries what are the REALISTIC tax benefits?
