Apartment w pets

I'm finally moving to Antigua this coming March. Does anyone know of an apartment available within walking distance of central antigua, just a basic 1 bedroom that accepts small dogs? I'd appreciate any thought. I'd be renting for a minimum of 6 months. Is it common and safe to reserve an apartment three months in advance or should I wait until I'm there?
