Best border crossing?

We will be driving from San Cristobal, MX in the morning to Panajachel. We would greatly appreciate advice on best border crossing as we seem to have two options Tapachula taking us to Hwy CA2 or La Mesilla taking us to Hwy CA1. Is one easier than the other considering drive to Pana? Anything we should watch out for or be aware of? Thank you for any Intel you can provide.
