Adult with Guate Parent seeking Guate Passport/Residency

Hello, I am an adult born and raised in the US. I have been seeking to get my Guate Passport/Residency for some time. I had just finalized correcting my birth certificate to match with my father's actual given name (per ENCAP). I had apostiled my birth certifcate and was ready to go to Guatemala City when BAM - Covid hit. Now I am hoping things will open up in the next month or two.

My Question: Has anyone done this successfully? My plan right now it to go to the office of Foreign Affairs with my apostilled US Birth Cert, (6 months old now) my father's DPE and Birth Cert (RENA), and apply in person. Is this the way? Am I missing anything? Any insight is greatly appreciated as I've been at this for almost 2 years and the errors in my birth cert tripped up the process last time I went in person. So I started all over again. Thank you!!
