Looking to Retire in Central America

I have thinking about retiring in the couple years to Central America. I prefer the Caribbean side and looking into Honduras?
I currently am a licensed Realtor in Colorado and wanting to know how easy it would be to transfer my RE license and sell in Honduras. I am in the beginning stages of research and I would like to be close to the beach like La Ceiba? or is there a better area to look into? How do you purchase Real Estate in a foreign country? How much to rentals? Can you live comfortable with a 2 bed 2 bath for around $1,000 a month?
How safe is it for a single person to move down there?
Any information would be very helpful.
