medication issues

Hello,
I am an American citizen and plan on retiring in San Pedro Sula in early April 2021. I began my adventure to Honduras on September 26, 1985 when I arrived in Tegucigalpa as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I have returned there several times since when I worked again with the Peace Corps after Hurricane Mitch as well as annual trips to see now family.
I am now returning as a independent citizen and will be married residing in San Pedro Sula.
I am trying to plan for my move there and have realized I may have a medication issue. The medication prescribed for me is most likely not available in Honduras. My insurance in the US will cover the very high monthly cost, but how do I receive it in Honduras? I am apprehensive to have it shipped as if lost I would never be able to pay the out- of-pocket costs. Have you had others with this issue? Do you know of options I may not have thought of? It would only be 4 times a year as I receive a 90 day supply of the medication.
What would be the safest means and allow more assurance no one would misplace the package.
Please let me know if you have experience with shipping companies that would be most secure. i.e. FedEx or DHL
Thank you for your assistance,

Arthur Thomas
