I am an American man living in New Jersey engaged to a Filipina who works in Hong Kong. For many reasons it will take us close to a year to get a Visa for the U.S. so she is still working there.
My fiance is 35,hard working and has 4 children from a previous marriage. Unfortunately, though she is a very good person she is being abused by her employers,but sees no other options as she has children to take care of.
Her employers force he to work 14-18 hour days,no Holidays off. Some Sundays if they are out of town she is allowed to take time off.
All of this has taken such a toll on her health it breaks my heart. But when I ask if she cannot find other employment she tells me it is not so easy. Her contract ends in July. But I do not know how she will manage. She sometimes goes on as little as 3-4 hours sleep.They also feed her very little .
If there are any Americans out there looking for a short-term (1 year)domestic worker or nanny who is hard working,responsible,intelligent and honest. Who will work to full capacity please respond.
She does not know I am doing this, but as I said she is working herself into the hospital if this employment continues. I do not know how else to help her. I send a little assistnace to her but she refuses to take any feeling too proud to accept even my help.
