Necessary Documentiaton for moving to HK from the USA

So I plan to move to Hong Kong to be with my gf who is studying there now. Im trying to get all the necessary steps in order to do this but I need to know really what I need done in the states her for me to be able to move there and work there for at least 1 year if not more. I just need to know what forms documentation and such.

Any suggestions would be helpful since I know nothing of the sort and all the government websites get confusing lol.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.
