Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2012

We've been adding more events and by the time we are done, we will have more than 60 events! For detailed event listings, please visit our website. Here are some highlights:

All About Food
Food brings people together. And on the first day of the Festival, we bring together three food personalities in one single event.
Fuchsia Dunlop is a cook and food writer specialising in Chinese cuisine. Tracy Griffith is one of the world's first professional female sushi chefs. Cheryl Tan is a Singapore-born New Yorker who wrote a memoir A Tiger in the Kitchen. Three chefs/food writers, three cuisines.
Catch them all as they talk to Murray Mackenzie, a professional chef and Education Specialist at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The Power of Words and Forgiveness
He is a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee (2010-2012). One of the most outspoken, prominent and beloved researchers, educators and public speakers on peace and development in the Middle East, Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish is also the founder of the Daughters for Life Foundation in memory of his three daughters, killed by Israeli tank fire. His is author of the book is Thou Shall Not Hate.
Diplomat, writer, journalist, broadcaster, teacher, scholar, editor and long-time African National Congress activist. Lindiwe Mabuza has worked tirelessly to oppose apartheid in South Africa and to foster understanding of her country around the world.
Meet them on Monday, 8 October for breakfast and hear them in conversation with Vanessa Collingridge.

Party for Friends
Don't forget our Closing Party on 14 October. Immediately after our last event at Hullett House, we will let our hair down. We'll be there the whole day so make a day of it. It will be your last chance to meet John Boyne, Dino Mahoney, Pankaj Mishra, Simon Wu and Katie Hafner before the curtain closes and the party begins at 6pm.
