International Schools and their Curriculum

A curriculum in uncomplicated word is nothing but the courses presented in an educational institution. But if we go in detail the word means much more and often wider than the alleged meaning. These wide ranges of curriculum constantly happen to the parameter for a student or may be a parent to opt certain schools who put forward internationally recommended syllabus.
Curriculum is the approved course studies which a student is supposed to accomplish to acquire certain degree of education. When we talk specifically about International Schools, they offer the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), International Baccalaureate (IB), Central Board of Secondary Education etc. In India IB curriculum is offered by very few schools and among them Oakridge International School, is a prominent one. They have provided the children with well flourished curriculum which includes all academic and extramural activities.
International Baccalaureate (IB) is an internationally standardized curriculum for students aged 3 – 9 to help them develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in rapidly globalizing world. The IB program started in 1968 and now 3,462 schools in around 143 countries are following the IB syllabus. On the same ground there is Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) also propose internationally standardized curriculum by more than 9000 schools around 160 countries in the world. The goal is to deliver world-class education through proficient curriculum, assessment and services. They provide globally recognized qualifications including IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education. Apart from internationally standardized syllabuses there is CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) which is the state syllabus offers innovative teaching and learning methodology through centered paradigms.
In Oakridge – International schools in Bangalore they offer International Baccalaureate's Primary Year Program (IB PYP) for the primary class children and International Baccalaureate's Diploma Program (IBDP) for Grade IX and XII, keeping in mind the perception of academic learning and the global responsiveness. Since most of a human beings’ mental development happens in the primary ages, it is essential to build a social consciousness along with fundamental education. This course of learning helps the child to think critically and develop his/her on ideas of the existing circumstance. For the secondary students they offer the Cambridge Lower Secondary Program and Central Board of Secondary Education syllabus to endow them with more advanced growth. It provides the systematic progress and turn into further sophisticated at this phase where they are much more exposed to world of science and mathematics and also helps to varied skills.
Since we believe in the reality that children are the hope for future, the curriculum taught in schools should be central part on which the personal and mental capabilities of a student to be formed and for this function educational institution and government bodies should take measures to assemble such curriculum which can lend a hand to students to reach out their goal.
