Can a second grade kid survive in Pune with out speaking Hindi or Marathi?

My daughter is 7 years old and I am getting a good offer in Pune. We are currently in Houston but if I accept the offer will move to Pune beginning of July.

We do not speak Hindi or Marathi. I was told by colleagues that all schools speak english and ask kids too to talk in english. And my daughter will be taught hindi in cbse schools.

However, I spoke to Lexicon school and they say that they expect kid to know Marathi or Hindi. If not, the kid will face problems.

Kindly advice.
