Long-term house exchange?

Has anyone ever done a house exchange with someone in Ireland? I have a possible opportunity to re-locate for 2-3 years, and had considered the idea of exchanging houses with someone in Ireland looking to re-locate for the same period of time in the U.S. The information I've found so far on the web is usually for short-term arrangements (ie. holidays, etc.). Anyone have any ideas about this?
