Debate on whether to get married in Ireland or the U.S. - help please

Hi folks. I'm in a serious relationship with my boyfriend and we've started talking about marriage. If anyone has any pointers as to whether it is better to get married in Ireland or in the United States, I'd greatly appreciate it. We are leaning toward him moving to the States, but I'm not opposed to living in Ireland. Does it make a difference which country we get married in? Thanks in advance for any advice or stories.
