Canadian visiting Ireland just got engaged

I met my boyfriend on line prior to me coming to visit Ireland. My visit is almost up but I like to stay longer...tried to find work but need PPS # but need to pay fee for registering. He Just asked me to marry him...but now that is a whole new ball game...its a three month wait before you get married and there is also a fee for this.
Is there not an easier way of staying and getting visa to work and then get married.
Just need links to help me with my research and all.
