Parents to 2 Kids need advice!!

My has got a job a nurse in dublin and will be attending her adaptation in sep. 2016. we have 2 kids (an infant) and cant imagine of idea of leaving them with me and the nanny. So we were thinking if we could apply for short term (3 months visa) for me and kids while she applied for her AWS (Atypical Work Scheme) visa so we can all fly together and later once she is done with her adaptation and exams we can apply for family reunion visa.
the question is, can we fly all together with different types of visas?
If we did, do we have to exit the country later on to get the Family re union visa?
Please help!!
