In Galway City next week a few days to check retirement scene - how connect with other Expats?

Hi - Retiring within the year and thinking about living awhile in Galway City - taking a class at NUIG - developing writing skills - hiking the country - how might I find ExPats in Galway City next week to hear about their experiences living there? I'm a 60 year old widowed 4 years. Any tips appreciated!
