Dual Citizen + US Husband

I’m a lifetime US citizen, but recently went through the FBR process and now have an Irish passport. Are there any special arrangements I need to make to bring him with me to Ireland for an extended visit? We have different surnames on our passports.
Not looking to became a permanent resident at this time, but what if we want to stay longer than the maximum time allowed for US passport holders?
