Working Holiday Ending

Hi,

I am a Canadian Citizen who migrated to Ireland as of January 2017. I obtained my stamp 1 working holiday visa in September 2016 which allows me to remain and work in Ireland until September 2018. I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 5 years and cohabitating since January 2017. He is an Irish Citizen. I understand that in order to qualify for the De Facto Relationship status, we must have lived together for 2 years. My dilemma is that I am looking to submit my application by June of this year but at that point we wouldn’t have fulfilled the 2 year rule. I am currently working also. I have a few questions:

- If I submit my De Facto relationship application in June 2018, can I continue to work while my application is in process seeing as my working holiday visa is still valid until September 2018?
- If I am able to provide proof of the ongoing long distance relationship for those two years, is that considered compelling enough proof for the application to be successful?
- What other options do I have to stay and work in the country after Sept 2018? I am currently in employment so an offer of employment was accepted which is why I’m not sure how I would be able to apply for a work permit now or what the requirements would be and if I would meet them. I am just looking for an option to be able to remain and work in Ireland once my working holiday stamp 1 expires in September and I really need some advice.

Thank you for your help in advance.
