Non nursing jobs.

Hi,
If anyone has any ideas/suggestions regarding jobs where I could utilize my experience from my career as a nurse in the USA I would really appreciate it.
I am not registered as a nurse yet in Ireland but I am sure there must be jobs where I can transfer my skills. I am currently working as a Health Care Aide in a Nursing Home. The hours are long and the pay is terrible and I'm not sure I can afford to live on what I make.
Would love to hear from anyone that had to change careers when they returned. What did you do and are you glad you made the move?
