My wife and I are used to living near New York City & Orlando. If we retire to Ireland we want to be in some kind of "neighborhood" so as to more readily get to know people and have people get to know us. We are not the age of needing caretakers, but do want to be in a position to be able to go to market and have some local fun without much driving. we would like to have a bunch of neighbors we could get to know and families who might take a peek in on us in our later years. I apologize for sounding like a true suburban New Yorker (Long Island). We would love to hear thoughts about possible areas for future retired living in Ireland. I trace solidly family roots to Clonmel and Newcastle, Co. Tipperary, as well as to Tinahely, Co. Wicklow, and also parts of Co. Kilkenny. The perfect Disney or movie script has us ending up in one of those places, but we are wide open to suggestions. My wife's preference any seashore. Thanks in advance. GRMA.
