Drug Payment Scheme

I spend well over €200 per month on prescriptions to manage my health conditions. I recently discovered by accident the Drug Payment Scheme. I immediately applied for the card and was approved. I have 7 months that are presumably not covered. Is this accurate? Can this be back-dated? I was here under a join spouse visa from October 5th until January 5th. The first appointment I could get to register with immigration was exactly 90 days from the date I arrived. May 2024 is the first month the Drug Payment Scheme card is official. What, if anything, can I do to recoup some of my expenses? Particularly because I was not officially allowed to work until I was registered with immigration.
