work in Israel

Hi, I came to Israel because of my Israelis boyfriend and started ulpan one month ago so don't understand very much:)
I would like to find part time job as a manual worker, cleaner .. :) basically anything without hebrew...
but I don't have work visa, my boyfriend told me that I have to find a job first and then I can ask for work visa.. Could anybody tell me if it really works this way? And if companies as Manpower would accept me without work visa?
I checked some English written websites but there are only jobs for people with university degree or mother level of English.
I would really appreciate any advices :)

Thanks
